2nd Feb / Its not just about cars
Normally readers will expect me to talk about cars on the BLOG, but I thought I would do something different…..now I am not being boring here ! but we never talk about the other things that make us different, to show that not only do we invest in fleet but equally important is the investment we make in facilities here at dreamcarhire, for me that is an important part of what we are trying to do. coming from the land of multi million pound car dealerships I wanted to create an environment that matched the Chairman’s aspirations…….which I can tell you is not always the easiest thing to do !!! he will read this so it maybe my last BLOG
When we started which seems like yesterday we were in the middle of the cotswold countryside in a little warehouse and it was not unusual to see a horse or a cow wander into the showroom……and I mean real ones now these guys have no shame so we had a specific broom and shovel to clear up afterwards.
I have numerous pictures (which I will not put on here) and we were next door to a funeral parlour as well which meant we could offer lifetime employment !! now as nice as it was, (customers loved it even though they could not find us) in three years we quickly grew and simply had to move to a bigger more central location without the wildlife but retaining the bit that made it special
In the past 2 years we have built up our new facility and the team have worked incredibly hard to create an environment that reflects where we want dreamcarhire to go in the future. I know from speaking with customers or just enthusiasts who pop in, that what we have is pretty special.
In late 2010 we actually hosted a sales conference at dreamcarhire for the first time, which did not involve cars at all……..although as a venue for the meeting they were pretty powerful, particularly at the end of the day as one lucky person from the group was given the keys to an Aston Martin and drove it back to the hotel where they were all staying. You can see from the picture our showroom makes the perfect backdrop as a motivational tool !!! even the sofas are corporate !
But we have not stopped there we also recognise that every car has to go out in perfect condition and accidents happen we all still seem very adapt at using the curbs of London as parking sensors (including staff !!!!) we repair between 40 and 60 wheels a month………….the difference is that our guys are trained to do it in house which means we can turn around every car before it leaves us……..so we bought the proper thing to go with our trained repairers a dust free booth that means we get a brilliant finish on every wheel we repair for customers as well…….
Ideally we would love every customer to collect from here…….I know that is not possible but for us we are very proud of what we have built so far and it is not unusual to see two or three people sat on the sofas having a coffee and looking over the cars a large number of our Premium members have been here and long may it continue……so pop in and see us.
Finally it would not be right not to mention cars at some point, 458 lovers (Believe it or not I am not sure I am one of them) watch out for a major BLOG in quarter 3………………………… give me a GT3 RS with nylon door handles any day

Nobodies birthday this week so I will say hello to little Sam and Matt instead (two of the new arrivals from the mini baby boom we went through at dreamcarhire last year)
