In 2010 we entered into discussions with a locally based organisation, TRAX Motor Project who through corporate sponsorship and local council partnership have extablished a facility that supports the education and foundation training of young people from various backgrounds.

The concept we discussed was to enable some of the young people at TRAX to experience the everyday workings of dreamcarhire and understand in more depth how a business operates. Most of the youngsters have a passion for cars, and it was therefore a very logical partnership.

I guess if you want to set out in the automotive world the chance to work with the product we have here at dreamcarhire can only reinforce the desire and passion to carry on.

From a personal perspective when I started out there were far greater opportunities presented by UK manufacturers such as Rover Group, Jaguar Cars, Rolls Royce and I was extremely lucky to be sponsored through University and four years of brilliant training by Jaguar Cars, for which I will always be grateful, and without which I certainly would not be where I am today. TRAX have partnered with Abingdon & Witney College in Oxfordshire to try and achieve exactly that type of scenario.

Quite honestly in todays “survival of the fittest” environment those same opportunities that set the foundations early, really are so few and far between.  With the expectation that most young people will go onto university and really not making room for those who do not or perhaps cannot.  So the chance for dreamcarhire to play even  just a very small part in helping to guide those young people in the right direction is very satisfying.

Our first placement begins in three weeks time, where we will have our first young person working alongside our fleet preparation team, so next time you jump into a car it could well have been prepared for you by a young person at the start of their own journey !!

Look out for further updates.
