16th May / F458 Italia
After months of build up and aniticipation I can finally announce the imminent arrival of the first of our Ferrari F458 Italia’s.
I am really pleased to say with the patience and support of our members, we hung out and did not fall into the trap of paying over list just to say “we had one first”. Yes it is a highly desirable car, that just about every motoring hack has declared to be the best at what it does in the world, however that comes at some of the most ridiculous prices I have seen from £225,000 upwards with premiums of £35,000 common place, even on LHD cars.
I said in an earlier BLOG I was not the number one fan, (all be it that is splitting hairs) that said it is a true testiment to how far Ferrari have come. An interesting insight to the issues we face, doing what we do, is that we are anticipating running costs to be close to a third of those for the trusty F430 model it replaces.
I think it is fair to say the F430 was step on from the F360 so to be in the world of annual minor servicing is good news. Although speaking to a Ferrari dealer recently, there are still those out there that have a requirement to spend huge sums of money having a belt service every five minutes… otherwise in their mind it is not a proper Ferrari.
Of course we intend to do something ever so slightly different with the arrival of the first car to the fleet, one of our lucky premium members will be given the keys to drive the car away on the first night of its arrival…after an exclusive members evening on the 16th July.
Our first car is, it goes without saying…Rosso Red with Nero interior… or does it go without saying, becasue for sure our second one will be slightly different, the car lends itself very well to a wide array of colour and trim specifications one of the nicest being grigio alloy with bordeaux for example.
